These are made in variation burden yarn, with a ribbed leg. You can do them in one colorize, or in a combination of colors. I made a pair in orangish, with pitch-black reaves at the clear of the leg and dark for the list and toe. (they were for the coddle of a teacher I work out with, and these are the train colours!)
**Peculiar Abbreviation: ssk - this is an alternate to the sure-enough psso decrease. To ssk, you steal the following two sewes knitwise, then insert the tip of the leftover turn over needle into the front of these two stitches, then knitting them together. If you prefer, you could always utilise the psso decrease rather. (Slip 1, rumple unmatched, pass slipped stitch complete), but I receive the ssk is quicker and neater.
Materials:
One set of 3.25 mm double-pointed needles.
Sport or DK weight yarn.
Optional: contrast for stripes, heel and toes.
Cast on 32 stitches, distributed evenly on three needles:
1st needle: 10 stitches
2nd needle: 12 stitches
3rd needle: 10 stitches
Rib in k1, p1 ribbing for 4 inches.

It's early August, and I can almost hear sleigh bells. Can't you? Don't look now, but summer is on the wane! Without even knowing it, the days are growing shorter, already! Cool breezes are blowing and some foliage is actually going away.
But wait! There is a solution....instead of getting depressed, you need to do something. Like take up a hobby.
I can't think of anything better than learning to knit!
I don't care about all those other crafts and DIY projects; learn knitting and you can kiss those paintballs goodbye!
If you don't believe me, then let me give you *5* good reasons why:
- You can feel just like a knitting apprentice! After all, in centuries past an apprentice was someone learning a craft, and if you are new to knitting, then you're an apprentice! Even the Donald couldn't argue with that!
With knitting, there is a TON of information, and no matter how often you knit, or how much you think you know, there is always something new.
And that's good, because you never want to run out of ideas.
- Years ago there was a TV commercial for "Shake N Bake", which featured a little girl in the kitchen with Mom, and all she said was "Shake n Bake...and I helped".
